Cringoed Holiday Park in the Heart of Mid-Wales

This is a hidden gem of a site, situated in the picturesque Twymyn valley, on the fringe of the Cambrian Mountains. Cringoed sits alongside the river Twymyn, which is one mile from the small village of Llanbrynmair, where you will find the local public house, village shop, primary school and Machinations activity centre.

From this tranquil location you can travel in any direction and visit Cardigan Bay beaches, (Aberdovey, Borth , Barmouth and many more) steam railways, vast lakes, cascading waterfalls, picturesque mountains & hillsides. Within an hour you could be in Snowdonia or the Brecon Beacons.

For the keen walkers, we are well placed on Glyndwrs Way and just a short drive away is the Clywedog Dam which is situated high in the spectacular Cambrian Mountains, accessible from the B4518. There is also a Sailing Club and Fishing on Llyn Clywedog.

Hafren Forest which has numerous walks including waterfalls and a route to the Source of the River Severn is only 11 miles away.

The Centre for Alternative Technology is situated in Corris, which is 14 miles away and just a little further on is the Corris Craft Centre with nine studios including; glass sculptures, handmade chocolate, candle making and jewellery to name but a few. There is also King Arthurs Labyrinth where you can take a boat trip through underground caverns and tunnels and get a feel for how life was working in the slate mines with The Corris Mine Explorers.

Our local town of Machynlleth has a variety of shops, cafés, a street market on a Wednesday plus Bro Dyfi Leisure Centre with excellent facilities, which is only 12 miles away.

Coed y Brenin Forest Park is in Dolgellau, where you can enjoy walking and cycling in the Snowdonia National Park. There is a visitor’s centre and forest café gift & craft shop, and is 27 miles to the North.

Blue Island Ceramics situated in Ynyslas is a craft centre where you can paint your own pottery and is only 24 miles away.

Dyfi Osprey Project as seen on BBC Spring and Autumn watch, is 15 miles to the West and a few miles further on you will find Ynys-hir RSPB Nature Reserve which is just off the A487 in the village of Eglwys-fach, plus Ynyslas where you can drive onto the beach and park, which is great for wind surfing & kite flying and is only 25 miles away.
